The Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo (Foundation for Innovation and Development, FIDBAN), an international investment network aimed at connecting entrepreneurs with investors and promoted by the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO) and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana I(bero-American University Foundation, FUNIBER), strengthen their presence in Mexico after the appointment of Dr. Miguel Ángel López as director general ad honorem.
This appointment was formalized in the context of the recent institutional visit of the president of FUNIBER, Dr. Santos Gracia Villar, consolidating a new stage for the network in the country. The representative of the Foundation in Mexico and rector of the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Ibero-American University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), Dr. Luis Alonso Dzul, also participated in this meeting.
During the meeting, officials highlighted Dr. López’s track record and commitment to strengthening initiatives aimed at entrepreneurship, innovation, and connecting growth-potential projects with specialized support networks. In particular, his previous participation as director for Latin America of FIDBAN, within the framework of the Innovation and Development Foundation, was highlighted, a role from which he contributed to the promotion and support of entrepreneurial proposals in the region.
FIDBAN, promoted by UNEATLANTICO and other institutions, is a non-profit foundation aimed at connecting business projects with private equity investors, facilitating access to financing for innovative initiatives through a structured analysis model, evaluation and presentation. Present in more than 30 countries, this international network organizes investment forums, support programs and meeting spaces between entrepreneurs and investors, contributing to the development of dynamic and sustainable business ecosystems
In this context, the appointment of Dr. López acquires a strategic dimension by reinforcing FIDBAN’s presence in Mexico, a key country for the articulation of innovation initiatives in the Ibero-American area. Its leadership will consolidate the mechanisms of connection between entrepreneurial talent and investment capital, as well as stimulate the creation of investment networks in the local and regional environment.
