FIDBAN promotes the Peruvian entrepreneurial ecosystem with its first Investment Round in Lima, Peru with the support of UNEATLANTICO

The Peruvian innovation ecosystem reached an important milestone with the first Investment Round of the Foundation for Innovation and Development (FIDBAN), promoted by the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) and the Society for Development in Cantabria (SODERCAN). The meeting took place on June 16 at the facilities of the Autonomous University of Peru, located in the Villa El Salvador district of Lima, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and key figures in the sector.

The Peruvian capital was the setting for FIDBAN’s debut, where twelve cutting-edge startups had the opportunity to present their projects to FIDBAN’s network of investors. The event, held at the Autonomous University of Peru, culminated in a productive networking session.

The institutional welcome was given by Alejandro Gilardino, who gave the floor to representatives of the host university and FUNIBER. Dr. Carlos Venturo, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Communications Sciences at the Autonomous University of Peru, highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting innovation. Dr. Jaime Zea then thanked the host university and gave a brief presentation on FUNIBER. Both highlighted the importance of hosting this initiative and the value of collaboration in promoting innovative projects.

Diego Laínz, Director of FIDBAN, presented the foundation’s model and its international reach. He explained that FIDBAN’s strength lies in its solid institutional backing, with key support from FUNIBER and the Government of Cantabria through SODERCAN, which allows for the creation of a solid and reliable investment bridge. To showcase the potential of this connection, the video “Invest in Cantabria” was screened, detailing the opportunities in the Spanish region as a destination for investment and talent.

The event was made possible thanks to the unconditional support of the Autonomous University of Peru, which, with the support of its Rector, Dr. Enrique Vasquez, hosted the event in the SUM room of its University. We would also like to thank strategic partners such as ProUNI, the 1551 incubator at the National University of San Marcos, and the Peruvian Association of Seed Capital and Entrepreneurs (PECAP), as well as Concytec and Pro Innóvate for their significant collaboration in promoting the Round. With this first round, FIDBAN not only reaffirms its commitment to global innovation, but also opens a new chapter of opportunities for entrepreneurial talent in Peru.

The FIDBAN Board of Trustees includes SODERCAN as the main sponsor, the European University of the Atlantic, the Ibero-American University Foundation FUNIBER, CITICAN, the city councils of Santander and Torrelavega, and CEOE-CEPYME.
