Dr. Silvia Aparicio, vice-ector for Academic Planning and Faculty of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), attends as a member of the board of CONFEDE to the signing of an agreement between two key institutions for the development of the fields of economics and business: the Conference of Deans of Economics and Business (Conferencia de Decanos de Economía y Empresas, CONFEDE) and the General Council of Economists.
In this line, Eugenio Luque, president of CONFEDE, and Valentin Pich, president of the General Council of Economists of Spain, signed an agreement whose objective is the collaboration between both institutions in all areas of common interest, such as the exchange of information so that the adaptation of the graduates of the Faculties of Economics and Business to the labor market is optimal; the dissemination of studies of economics and business together; or the organization of congresses, conferences, and seminars related to the study of economics and business.
This agreement lays the foundations for the future of professionals in the area to have training rooted in the real needs of companies in the sector. Dr. Aparicio shared that this agreement “will promote and strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and improve the employability of those trained in our faculties.”
This was followed by the presentation of the report of the Financial Observatory and Economic Keys of the General Council of Economists. The meeting was attended by Carolina España, Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds of the Regional Government of Andalusia. The Council forecasts Spanish economic growth of 1.6% for 2023 in line with the European Commission’s growth forecast for Spain of 1.7%; it also forecasts an increase in the average CPI to 3.2%; the Consumer Confidence index stands at 77.6 points in 2023, well below the Eurozone average.
The presence of UNEATLANTICO in both events, represented by the vice-rector for academic planning and faculty, places the university at the forefront of economic institutions and the real needs of the business sector to offer students of the degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) an education focused on employability and adaptation to the labor market.
