Dr. Rubén Pérez García, professor at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) participated in the Cervantes Institute Conference promoted by the SACIC (Accreditation System of Cervantes Institute Centers), with the theme “The language support service (SAPLI) and the varieties of Spanish. A shared experience between the students and the Spanish department”.
These internships were carried out in June with the purpose of continuing to give visibility to what is being done in the Spanish department. They were carried out online through videoconferences and addressed to teachers, academic managers and people from the management, direction and administration teams of the accredited centers.
UNEATLANTICO, through its Language Center, created, in 2022, the Language Support Service (SAPLI). The service is managed entirely by students and gives Spanish students the opportunity to get in touch with the varieties of the Spanish-speaking world. Thus allowing teachers to generate activities that include all things pan-Hispanic in a meaningful and real way in the classroom or in any of the university facilities in case an out-of-class exercise is scheduled.
Its main objectives were to share and generate knowledge based on concrete experiences, to make room for the successful experiences of the centers, to address the training needs detected from the evaluations and to generate a culture of exchange and cooperation between teams from different centers.
The training action is one of many activities to promote a culture of improvement and shared practice, as well as to respond to the interests and concerns of the teams of the accredited centers, collected in the accredited centers, collected in the activities of evaluation and monitoring of their activity.
