Dr Paula Quijano, academic director of the degree in Translation and Interpretation and Applied Languages, Translation and Language Teaching (TEL) at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO), has published a chapter in the scientific book entitled «Educational and vocational innovation: new collaborative and technological models».
The chapter written by Quijano, entitled «Analysis of tradumatic preferences of translators currently in training: the online vs. offline word processor» focuses its research on examining students’ preferences for the instruments used in their future profession.
Thus, in addition to serving as part of its chapter in the above-mentioned book, The UNEATLANTICO teacher will also use the feedback from respondents to adapt her teaching method based on the needs of the students and thus better respond to the demands of the labour market. For his part, Quijano considers that «the teaching process is a bilateral process and in this way he will be able to provide them with a more enriching training».
For the realization of this study, the teacher obtained the participation of her students of the degree in Translation and Language Teaching (TEL) of UNEATLANTICO, who were totally predisposed to collaborate with the study. This study has aroused great interest as the conclusions have emphasized new issues to be taken into account by Dr. Quijano.
Quijano points out that it is very important to know the status of the issue, especially because tomorrow they need to work with office tools. Therefore, the question we must ask is not only which need, but also which prefer».
