The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) received the visit of Dr. Maria Mercedes Garcia Perez, who gave a lecture on “Learning situations: in a practical way in the stages of Primary and ESO”, which was held in the auditorium of the University.
Dr. María Mercedes García, former General Director of Educational Innovation and Inspection, is an inspector of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of the Government of Cantabria. The visit was part of the lecture series for the 2023-2024 academic year of the degree in Primary Education (PE) and the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching.
Dr. María Mercedes García touched on a variety of topics related to learning situations. She gave the students a variety of examples of different situations that could arise in their future working life and how to deal with them. At the end of the conference, a question and answer session was held, so that the students could clarify any doubts that arose during the conference.
It was a unique opportunity to delve into an important topic for the good professional development of teachers. This same year, the students of Primary Education of the 2nd year of the degree, received a workshop on the promotion of abuse and prevention of juvenile abuse. The workshop was given by Mercedes del Campo, Social Educator.
It is important to emphasize that UNEATLANTICO continually strives to enrich the educational experience of its students, with the aim of preparing them to practice their profession with excellence and making the most of their skills and knowledge. This is achieved through a combination of innovative pedagogical resources, updated academic programs and a focus on the integral development of the student, which includes academic, personal and professional aspects.
