The second year students of the degree in Computer Engineering (II) of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University UNEATLANTICO), within the subject «Computer Networks» taught by the professor Mariano Benito, visited the facilities of CIC Consulting Informatics in Cantabria.
Juan Prego, director of Human Resources and Organization, received the students and explained the work they do in the company: ICT consulting, software development and IT integration, ICT infrastructures or cybersecurity, among other tasks.
Prego encouraged students to join CIC’s internships and stressed that the company is looking for responsible people, interested in dynamic and innovative projects, eager to learn, with initiative and adaptability. He also stressed the importance of being up to date in order to work within this sector.
José Miguel Prellezo, factory manager at CIC, showed them how they work in the company and gave some pointers on the methodology they use.
Then, Alfonso Azofra and Pablo Lisaso, responsible for communications and systems, guided the students on a tour of the building. Visited the Data Processing Center (CPD) which centralizes the organization’s operations and infrastructure to store, process, process and disseminate data and applications, and the «Network Operation Center» (NOC) where IT and telecommunications systems are monitored and managed.
