La Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has held a new edition of the “What now?” program, an initiative designed to support students in their job search and offer them tools to help them enter the professional market.

The program is developed in collaboration with entities such as the Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo (Innovation and Development Foundation, FIDBAN), SODERCAN, the Centro Empresa Universitario (University Business Center, CEMU), and CEO-CEPYME Cantabria, thus strengthening contact between students and professionals in the business world.

This year’s edition featured Bruno Cendón, Senior Director of Architecture-Reality Labs at Meta, who shared his professional career with the students. The telecommunications engineer explained his international experience before joining Meta in 2017, after working at Motorola in France.

He is currently part of Reality Labs, Meta’s division dedicated to developing virtual and augmented reality technologies. During his presentation, he explained some of the company’s projects, such as virtual reality headsets and smart glasses that integrate microphones, cameras, and artificial intelligence systems connected to mobile phones.

Cendón also spoke about career opportunities in the United States, highlighting the importance of experience and solid specialization in order to access these types of markets. He also reflected on the business culture of Silicon Valley, characterized by rapid innovation, effective communication, and the importance of building professional networks.

During the talk, he also addressed team management in large technology companies, emphasizing trust, clear communication, and the constant pursuit of improvement within teams.

Finally, he highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the future of work and encouraged students to familiarize themselves with these tools, as they will be key to increasing productivity and adapting to new demands in the job market.
