The European Atlantic University (UNEATLANTICO) is hosting the third edition of the Food Industry Innovation Chair Award, which was attended by experts in the field of food, who shared their knowledge and experience on current trends and the main challenges of the sector.
The event began with a talk given by Eduardo Sanfilippo, director of marketing, communication and innovation at Grupo Consorcio and president of the Association of Canning and Semi-canning Industries of Cantabria.
Sanfilippo stressed the importance of commitment when innovating and pointed out that consistency and the use of appropriate strategies facilitate success in creating and launching a new product to market.
Then a round table was held where the director of the Chair and the degree in Engineering of the Agricultural and Food Industries (IIAA) of UNEATLANTICO, Emilio Casuso, as moderator and Javier Puente Redondo participated, Jose Luis Pérez, Luis Ángel Martín and Eduardo Sanfilippo as rapporteurs.
The round table discussed the following topics: priority innovation to ensure quality, safe, sustainable and affordable food, and the functioning of the agri-food industry by combining science, technology, administrative regulation, private investment and public opinion.
When the colloquium ended, Roberto García and Emilio Casuso handed over the prize to Agrocantabria, thus ending the day.
