Mamadou Diop Decroix, Senegal’s former Minister and current General Secretary of the And-Jëf/African Party for Democracy and Socialism, visited today the European University of the Atlantic campus located in the Scientific and Technological Park of Cantabria (PCTCAN).

The also Member of the National Assembly of Senegal met with UNEATLANTICO Dean and General Secretary—Rubén Calderón and Roberto Ruiz, respectively—with the aim of initiating conversations, in order to establish future educational collaboration agreements with different institutions from the African country.

In this regard, Roberto Ruiz pointed out that for UNEATLANTICO ‘it is particularly important’ to create a university network in Africa that enables mutual cooperation in terms of education. Precisely, he said ‘Senegal’s stability makes it a leading country in the continent’s higher education.’

At the same time, Decroix took an interest in the seven Senegalese students who will begin next Monday their studies in Translation and Interpretation, Business Administration and Management, Psychology, and Agro-Food Engineering, on Santander campus.

With the aim of making their integration in Spain easier, these students, as well as the other foreign students in UNEATLANTICO, will have a Spanish immersion period before classes begin and will have the support of their peers in their everyday life at the University.
